Bridges not Borders: Anthology of South Asian Writing
We are so proud to introduce Bridges not Borders: An Anthology of South Asian Writing. Through funding from the ACE and AHRC grants, we have been able to produce our very first anthology of writing by South Asian writers anywhere in the world. The stories in this anthology were sourced from an open call to respond to the theme ‘bridges not borders’. We received and read over a hundred stories from across the globe. We were struck by the range of voices, places and narratives that we received for the anthology, and the fifteen stories in this anthology represent this breadth. Bridges not Borders seeks to celebrate that which unites us, rather than that which divides. The stories explore the ways in which we live, love and co-exist across the world. They surprise, delight and make us reflect on the many things that bring us together, regardless of our background.

Praise for Bridges not Borders
This gorgeous collection takes us from Lahore to London, Angkor to Singapore with stories ranging from heart breaking realism to the comical and fantastical. An underlying theme is the fragile web of relationality: scenes of parents and children, friends, siblings, lovers, neighbours and bosses alike are vividly depicted, with a rare authenticity of language and tone.
-Gita Ralleigh, poet and author of The Destiny of Minou Moonshine
This is such a beautiful collection of short fiction! The richness and diversity of the characters, cultures, and experiences it showcases range from the mundane to the exceptional, and everything in between.
-Farah Ghuznavi, author of Fragments of Riversong & editor of Lifelines anthology
Engaging narratives that highlight everyday struggles and triumphs. Through vivid characters and compelling settings, this wonderful anthology offers a profound insight into the region’s diverse cultures and experiences. Highlights the diversity of the South Asian experience in profoundly touching ways.
-Sabyn Javeri, author of Nobody Killed Her and Hijabistan
Honest, thought-provoking and immersive, these stories will captivate and haunt you in equal measure with each page soaked in beautiful prose that will pull on your heart strings. A brave and astonishing anthology.
